Performance assessments need to measure students' academic preparation and content knowledge holistically. They should also be codeveloped with teachers and community, and curriculum at the secondary level should be vertically aligned to support students in developing the target skills and knowledge.

I was surprised the LPI performance assessments were separated by subjects, because I think interdisciplinary projects/thinking/approaches more accurately reflect the type of thinking that is needed to succeed in the current workforce. I would like for UCLA-CS to do more interdisciplinary performance-based assessments. Also, I think the scored and reporting of these assessments required a lot of time/effort/resources. This is a big barrier for schools.
