         <title>February 6, 2022: FS and PT Orientation day</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This week is given for our orientation on practice teaching. We have been given instructions, which schools are our practice teaching partners, and final requirements for practice teaching.&nbsp;<br><br>I am bit nervous because the days of practice teaching are now knocking at my door, but also excited to meet real-time students and put whatever we have learned in the university in to practice.&nbsp;<br><br>I know to myself that I have a lot to improve yet, and this practice teaching will help me to get the experience that will mold me in to an effective teacher.</div>]]></description>

         <title>February 7-8/10, 2022: Patnuro Day 1, 2, &amp; 3</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Patnuro 2021-2022 will help us on knowing our partner schools and its administration, what to expect, and to visualize what will we going to have in practice teaching.<br><br>Finally, we are introduced to our supervisors and principals. I am familiarized with our partner schools since I am from Tondo, Manila, and all of the schools are within the city I live. So, I have encountered these schools and their students during my Elementary and JHS days.&nbsp;<br><br>Although I am familiar with these schools and know that they are in Parochial School System, I still lack of knowledge with how their system works. Nevertheless, having this orientation to all of our partner schools helped me to understand their system more.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>February 14&amp;15, 2022: The Pinning Ceremony</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>One of the most awaited event of education majors, the pinning ceremony.<br><br>On February 14, we had our preparation and rehearsal for the pinning ceremony. Three days before our rehearsal day, the pin and PT uniforms were distributed and as I've held it, my excitement went up and thought that finally, after all of these years with Inang Pamantasan, the day that I will be recognized as Practice Teacher will come.&nbsp;<br><br>And so was it, the pinning ceremony was held today. I did it with my mama because aside from my papa is at work that time, I really think that my mama deserves to have the pinning ceremony with me and pin my bar pin as a Practice Teacher. It was an overwhelming ceremony, though the event was done through online, I really felt that my parents and sisters were proud of me at that moment. I, too, am proud of myself for all the hardships I've been through just to come at this moment.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>With our supervisor, we've been oriented about the practice teaching requirements. Also, Prof. Colis provided us some ideas and approaches that we might utilize in lesson planning and our designated classes.<br><br>I am also thankful that Prof. Colis highlighted several predicted conditions with our partner private schools regarding the school's teaching system, because we are being equipped to teach in public schools. From there, the system were defined to us and how will we going to adjust with such new system.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>As we've learned about our partner schools for practice teaching, I'm manifesting my desire to be assigned to Manila Cathedral School, as this is the most familiar and nearby school to my home.<br><br>Finally, bingo! Manifestation is very powerful! I am overjoyed that my name has been placed on the list of practice teachers assigned to Manila Cathedral School!<br><br>My mind was flooded with mixed emotions. I'm both excited and anxious because this is it; I'm now being deployed to a school where I'll put all of the lessons our wonderful Inang Pamantasan has shaped us even more into practice. And I am now manifesting, by my dedication, wisdom, knowledge, and perseverance, that I will master this practice teaching and rise as a greater version of Teacher Shannen.</div>]]></description>

         <title>February 23, 2022: The Orientation with Manila Cathedral School</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We had our orientation with the AP Department of our designated school, MCS, and gave us tips on what to expect with the students of their school. The AP Dept. Head deployed us to our cooperating teacher and what grade level will we teach in our practice teaching.<br><br>Me, together with Teacher Joevilyn, Teacher Cheysserr, and Teacher Paul, were assigned to Grade 8 under Ma'am Heidi.&nbsp;<br><br>I am a bit nervous when I saw my name under Grade 8, it means our topics would be around the World History, which I admit, a difficult topic for me to discuss because it is pure content knowledge. And I am thinking now, how will I deliver each historical events to the students without them being bored with my teaching, especially that they are Grade 8 students with short attention span and can be easily distracted in an online class set-up.&nbsp;<br><br>But one thing is for sure, I will gain something in teaching Grade 8 class that will help me to become more competent and wiser future educator.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>February 24, 2022: First Meeting with our Critic Teacher </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We attended Morning Assembly and our cooperating teacher introduced us to her advisory class and other 4 handling class in Grade 8.<br><br>Our cooperating teacher also suggested that we should start ahead and not to waste anymore time since we only have limited time to stay in MCS. With that, she assigned us to have our first interaction with facilitating the part of Balitaan in class discussion as a testing water to what type of students we will going to have.&nbsp;<br><br>At first, I am shocked and nervous since the schedule of our actual practice teaching will start next week after a week of class observations.&nbsp;<br><br>But then, we took the challenge and considered what our cooperating teacher said. We will start facilitating Balitaan tomorrow with our assigned JHS class. We are also assigned to teach HUMSS Students, although we were originally assigned with Grade 8 students, our cooperating teacher also let us to facilitate and teach SHS students for more experience and to compare the difference between JHS and SHS.<br><br>I am overwhelmed by this but also excited to meet and have a class interaction with them.</div>]]></description>

         <title>February 28, 2022: First Class Observation and Balitaan</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The day has come, my first Balitaan with Grade 8 - St. Faustina of Kowalska. I really prepared my first Balitaan for I believe first impression lasts. I've become more keen when it comes to my powerpoint presentation design and together with co-practice teacher, we've deliberated what news we will going to present that has a connection with today's topic, the emperors of ancient Rome.<br><br><br>And since the topic were all about leadership and how each emperor handled and managed their empire, we've presented the presidential debate as our Balitaan.<br><br>I am surprised that as a Grade 8 students, they are well-aware with these and very participative. I'd like to think that my activity paved way to have an interactive Balitaan with me.&nbsp;<br><br>My nervousness on teaching Grade 8 students is still there, but now with enthusiasm to teach them.</div>]]></description>

         <title>March 1, 2022: First Day of our Actual Practice Teaching with HUMSS - St. John of God</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>As a first-time senior&nbsp;high school teacher, I'm both excited and anxious about the experience. In keeping with the notion that a person's first impression last,&nbsp;&nbsp;I prepared for my first day of teaching as a practice teacher by thinking about how I wanted my critique teacher to perceive me as a professional educator.<br><br>State, nation, and nation-state were the topics of our discussion. Despite my familiarity with the subject, I acknowledge that I can do better when it comes to applying what I've learned in class to real-world situations.<br><br>With only 30 minutes per discussion segment and four participants of us,&nbsp;I'm grateful for my critique teacher's thorough assessment of how we may improve as a teacher,&nbsp;&nbsp;our time management in particular.<br><br>Also, I think I'm getting better at working with others. Before, I was quite shy and felt that I should do everything on my own. But the experience of working with my co-practice teachers has shown me that asking for help is a healthy way to grow as a person and, eventually, a teacher.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Now that we've taught SHS students, I can say that there's really a difference between JHS and SHS students.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>This is my first time handling Grade 8 students with World History. As I have confessed in my daily journal, I am also anxious because World History is one of my weaknesses as a subject. I was so nervous that I thought I couldn't pull this topic with the level of thinking of grade 8 students.<br><br></div><div>But then again, I've made it. Although there are things that still needed to be improved, such as the art of questioning, my critique teacher guided me so well that my worries turned into a challenge to myself to do better every day.<br><br></div><div>St. Pio's appreciation at the end of our activity (Jamboard) made me cry, not because I'm sad, but because of the overwhelming feeling that really ignites my passion and realization in teaching.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This day, we had our meeting with Miss Heidi for a more in-depth exchange of feedback following our first day of teaching. So far, she has been impressed with our wit and creativity.<br><br>Our critique teacher taught us how to segment content in a 40-minute online session, which was particularly helpful for me as I tend to extend my classes by five minutes.<br><br>With Miss Heidi's supervision, we also addressed and began planning our CBAR.</div>]]></description>

         <title>March 4, 2022: First Round of Observation with Grade 8 - St. Faustina of Kowalska</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is my first round of observation with our Supervising Instructor, and I haven't felt this anxious since I drank five bottles of Kopiko 78.<br><br>During lesson planning, I overthink a lot,&nbsp;to the point that I have stifled all of my creative juices in order to create an interactive and enjoyable teaching-learning experience without overlooking the topic's essence.<br><br>I am well-versed in my subject matter, but a small voice in my head keeps repeating endless terrible "what if" scenarios, which causes my heart to beat 10 times faster than normal every minute.<br><br>From my lesson plan to my PowerPoint presentation, I am well-prepared. To calm myself before teaching, I manifested that I am capable of doing this, I will&nbsp;facilitate&nbsp;all of my activities on-time, and delivering the content to the students with ease.<br><br>Yes, I was anxious as I approached the moment of first-round observation, but as I taught, my anxiety subsides. I have enjoyed teaching Grade 8 students&nbsp;and our teaching-learning experience has been lively.<br><br>The awareness that I am being monitored vanished from my mind, and I focused on instructing the students.<br><br>My first round of&nbsp;observation was successful. I also acknowledge Ma'ams Colis and Ma'am&nbsp;Heidi's criticisms in an effort to better my skills. I never imagined that their criticisms would justify what I've accomplished today. I feel so relieved.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Since this is my second time teaching this class section, I am now more&nbsp;familiar with how to interest these&nbsp;students. I have observed that students are engaged in class owing to the online&nbsp;application Quizizz, which has piqued their attention.&nbsp;<br><br>Although some of them are off-camera, I am confident that they are still paying attention in class because they are actively participating&nbsp;in my activities.<br><br>Our critique teacher&nbsp;also suggested that I should&nbsp;continue this method so that students can develop their wits and participatory skills.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This topic is a bit of a challenge for me because we need to strike a balance between the factual information and the students' perspectives on this controversial topic.<br><br>We must "gaygayin," the term used by Ma'am Colis in our Historiography, to further substantiate all the material that circulates about this subject and prevent its misinterpretation.<br><br>We also apply what we have learnt about bracketing from Doc Portia. This will allow the students to think critically using correct and fact-checked information while preventing the input of biased information into the class.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I'm becoming better at providing examples that are appropriate for Grade 8 students, since I t is somewhat difficult for me to connect the events of Ancient Rome to the present.<br><br>Thankfully, Ma'am Heidi instructed us on how to relate this type of subject today. It is all about content/topic mastery; if you know your subject well and have read legitimate sources, it will be easy to apply it to the current situation through analogies and illustrations.<br><br>And I am now enjoying teaching a subject I thought I would never be comfortable with.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>On this particular day, we met with our critique teacher. A day that was allotted to us so that we could talk to each other about how we could make our respective teaching methodologies more effective. In addition to that, we discussed with her what we had accomplished during our meeting with our supervising instructor.<br><br>This kind of day was incredibly helpful for me as a future educator because it allowed me to shape my collaborative abilities, give constructive criticism, be keen on what I'm doing, and seek for their guidance.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This day, I taught SHS students about the three branches of government. Originally, I was assigned the afternoon session. However, I must then move to Teacher Joev (morning session) because I am having menstruation.<br><br>This is the first time I have taught with menstrual pains, asthma, and a migraine. Actually, I thought I wouldn't make it, I'll just let my critique teacher and co-practice teachers know that I'm having a tough time.<br><br>However, I still choose to teach the class, not because I am required to, but because I am eager to teach them the topic I have prepared. I'd like to hone my bracketing skills because this is such a big topic right now. I want to hear their perspectives on this topic and guide them on how to analyze and develop their critical thinking skills.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We had a CBAR planning meeting today, and our&nbsp;agenda was to think about&nbsp;potential research topics.&nbsp; And&nbsp; after the meeting, I allot my&nbsp;time today to accomplish my PT requirements.<br><br>I've come to understand that being a teacher entails more than just imparting knowledge to others; it also necessitates personal growth. A lot of my understanding of how we may enhance our teaching methods, classroom management, and how to cooperate with other people was aided by the research we have&nbsp;conducted.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>In addition to creating test questionnaires for the examination week, we also monitor our co-practice teachers in various grade levels in order to learn from them.<br><br>Due to the fact that our critique teacher's classes had to comply with their standards this week, my co-practice teachers and I in Grade 8 opted to observe some of our co-practice teachers in different grade levels.<br><br>The class I observed today&nbsp;was&nbsp;Teacher Audrey's class. Teacher Audrey is exceptional at managing the classroom and providing engaging activities.&nbsp; However, the topic they discussed is so sensitive, at least for me,&nbsp;that I must leave the Zoom meeting because some of it was triggering.<br><br>I've realized that I, too, will eventually cover this subject when I teach. With such sensitive topics, I should know how to fortify my head and heart and refine my bracketing skills. When the time comes for me to teach about sensitive topics, I should not allow my emotions to take over.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today, I observed&nbsp;Teacher Jun Jun's class. I admire Teacher Jun Jun's versatility and resourcefulness. Even though there were internet delays and technological tool issues, he still taught the lesson effectively, and I can tell that his students have a positive learning experience with Teacher Jun.<br><br>I also informed him what I've observed about his class and him as a teacher to help him improve, and he acknowledged it. Since we are good friends, we appreciate each other's constructive remarks, knowing that they contribute to our professional development.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I have challenged my students to reflect on what they have learnt about today's topic in deeper level. Initially, I anticipated that they would find it challenging to respond.<br><br>Nonetheless, my students responded accurately and appropriately, and based on their responses, I can conclude that they are attentive to my discussion, as this task required comprehensive grasp in it to be answered.<br><br>Every session, I am able to observe their growth and participation in class. Given that this class is typically reserved. Now they have the courage and confidence to answer questions and engage in class. And I am delighted to be their teacher.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I've challenged myself to experiment with activities and determine if a thematic approach still engages them.<br><br>I utilized a thematic approach for today's class and found that the students are more engaged than usual. In particular, this is my first group activity with them.<br><br>Since I tend to lengthen class sessions, I am initially hesitant about how it will be accomplished. Do I have 10 minutes of overtime? Or deliver on time regardless of the time-consuming group activity?<br><br>And the answer is that we did have overtime, but only for four minutes (but still needed to work on). I have also learned that this is not a question of time, but rather of classroom management. You must have paid close attention to the activity's instructions and followed them precisely because we have limited time to complete the task.<br><br>Therefore, with&nbsp;scheduling and commitment to your own class rules and instructions, there will be a seamless transition from activities to discussion within the allotted time.</div>]]></description>

         <title>April 6, 2022: Ang Imperyong Byzantine with Grade 8 St. Pio of Pietrelcina</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is&nbsp;it! MY GRAND DEMO DAY!<br><br>Although it didn't feel like it because our supervising instructor told us that there is no grand demo&nbsp;day and&nbsp;&nbsp;we should treat every class session as if it were a grand demo day. This is the reason why this day is no different with other teaching days.<br><br>At the conclusion of the evaluation, my critique&nbsp;teacher informed me that, among my co-practice teachers in Grade 8, I had progressed the most. She advised me to focus on my time management, but at least my classroom management and art of questioning are improving. She also complimented my thematic approach for being highly relevant to the students.<br><br>Prior to my first session of observation, I felt anxious. Having gained teaching experience, however, I am now able to effectively manage my teaching&nbsp;anxiety while still delivering the lesson to my class.<br><br>I am extremely grateful to my&nbsp;co-practice teachers that assisted me in gaining teaching experience.</div>]]></description>

         <title>April 7, 2022: Feast Day with Advisory Class</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We commemorated St. Pedro Calungsod's faith, sacrifices, and role as a servant of God by celebrating his feast day today. As a former student of a catholic school, I anticipated that this would be a joyful day while honoring St. Pedro Calungsod's devotion and service to God.<br><br>As we attended, our critique instructor also tasked us with planning some activities for an interactive feast day, even if it is conducted online.<br><br>It is enjoyable to spend a day with the students not because you are teaching them, but because you are celebrating an occasion with them and all you have to do is have fun.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is my last day teaching Grade 8 students, and one of the most memorable due to my students' insights to our discussion. I can say with conviction that I did my best to educate them, as proven by their responses to my questions and follow-up questions.<br><br>Within a month, both my students and I have improved, and I am glad to have taught them. I can also see my growth as a teacher, as attested by our critique teacher.<br><br>My experience in MCS equipped me with valuable insight into practical teaching. As I write this, I'm a little teary-eyed because of the overwhelming gratitude I've felt from the first day of practice teaching until the now.<br><br>It is indeed an honor to teach Grade 8 - St. Faustina, St. Pio, and Grade 11 - HUMSS.</div>]]></description>
