on saturday morning i left home for gambir station, i was very happy at that time because i couldn't wait for YIM to surabaya. when i got there i met my friends. i had to be there at 7.30 am and the train left at 10.30. when i was on the train i was very happy at first, but when i was in the middle i started to get very bored because we traveled 700km for 10 hours. i slept on the train then woke up and still hadn't arrived and i ate cuanki on the train, it was very delicious but the food and drinks there were very expensive. when we arrived in surabaya we went straight to the hotel to put our stuff then went to eat. after we finished eating we went to the hotel and rested for the next day.

Day 1

on the first day in Surabaya I woke up at 6 to have breakfast and take a shower because at 7.30 I would go to the GRII Kertajaya church to hold a choir service. after I finished breakfast, my friends and I went to the bus and went to church wearing batik. when we got there we were greeted by the church administrators nicely, we practiced the choir before the sermon started. we had 2 choir services. at the first service we followed the sermon very well and did the service well, after it was finished we had time to rest and practice again before the 2nd service started. at the 2nd service we followed it well and did the choir well too. then we held a health service at the church. we had lunch there and played ping pong, and the service on the first day in Surabaya ended at 15.00 and we all went back to the hotel and swam there. it was a very exciting experience, when we finished swimming we were assigned by Mr. Jordan to go to the mall to buy necessities for tomorrow's service. then at night we went to cak har restaurant and ate there. and we went back to the hotel to rest and prepare for tomorrow's service

Day 2

The second day in Surabaya I woke up at 6 then took a shower and had breakfast. On the second day, my friends and I went to an orphanage called Rumah Anak Sejahtera. It was a very fun and exciting experience where I met children who were not as fortunate as me. But I learned how to appreciate each other and remain respectful. I colored pictures with them and they were very happy when I helped them. After finishing that place, my group and I went to have lunch. I ate rawon and it was very delicious, I wanted to go back there because it was so delicious. After finishing eating, my friends and I went to the nursing home but before that we bought speakers for them as gifts. When we got there, we danced with the grandmothers there and shared stories. We went to eat after finishing there. Then went to the hotel, swam again and finally I rested to do service again tomorrow

Day 3

On the 3rd day, my friends and I were told to wake up very early because we were going to YBPK school. We woke up at 5 o'clock because we were going to leave at 6.15. My friends and I were very sleepy, but when we arrived at YBPK school, the sleepiness disappeared and turned into happiness because the children at that school were very active and exciting. The other friends taught while I prepared the items to make batik. When they heard that we were going to make batik, they were very happy. And that made us all happy. Everything went smoothly and excitingly. Then I got to know new friends there, at that school we were very long from 7 o'clock to 3 o'clock in the afternoon. After that school, we went to the orphanage again and served with singing there. That would be my most exciting and interesting experience because we sang together with the children and their parents. After that, we had dinner at a fried chicken restaurant. It tasted very good, then we went back to the hotel and rested for tomorrow's service.

Day 4

on the 4th day in Surabaya, my friends and I woke up at 6 and left at 7 because today was our last day of service. Our first service was to the Citra Kudus Kindergarten, we met cute kindergarten children. There we did story telling and gymnastics together, it was an exciting and fun experience. After returning from Citra Kudus Kindergarten, we went straight to St. Xaverius School, our service would end at that school. At that school, we were welcomed by the principal there. Then the service began, my friend and I were assigned to do the fingerprints for grade 6. The children were very active and kind, I was very lucky to meet them. While telling stories together at that time, we also sang together and danced. Our session was over and we and my friends headed to the bus and our service in Surabaya was over. Then we went to the museum, there we saw many beautiful paintings, we took pictures and then went back to the hotel to rest. In the evening we went to Kota Lama to play tuktuk, it was very exciting and fun. then we went back to the hotel and rested for tomorrow because tomorrow is an exciting day.

Day 5

on the 5th day we went on a recreation to Malang, because we had finished our service and it was time to have fun. we left the hotel very early. we left at 6 am so we had to wake up at 5 am. we slept on the bus on the way to Malang. when we got there we were greeted by the people there and we started to get on our jeep and went around the forest. then we played in the water, it was very exciting and after playing we took a shower and cleaned up and ate. after that we went to the apple orchard to pick them. it was very boring there but exciting we could eat as many apples as we could. after that we went straight back to Surabaya and ate at a restaurant. then we went to the hotel and rested.

Day 6

day 6 in surabaya i woke up at 7 because today we are very relaxed. the day started with taking a shower and packing because this is the last day in surabaya. after finishing packing and breakfast we checked out of the hotel and visited the alun alun surabaya museum, there we took pictures and saw the history of sari surabaya then from there we went straight to the zoo. very exciting and fun we can see unique animals. then after finishing we went to eat and to the station. there we took tickets and got on the train, then traveled for about 10 hours to jakarta. and the surabaya 2024 mission trip is over

Yim is a very fun and exciting activity, there are many lessons that can be taken such as how to mix with new people and respect each other, I am very lucky to be able to YIM to Surabaya. Even though there are many mistakes in our group, we remain solid and respect each other and I also have to improve my skills, my attitude, and my responsibility.

It was a Wonderfull experience
