What are your expectations of government, if any? If none, explain.

8/25/17
My expectations of our government are very low. I don't expect anything productive to come out of our government during these next few years. Especially if Donald trump is running again for president in 2020, and even more if Kanye West does decide to actually run too. Let alone the federal government is bad, but including the Illinois government is even worse. I expect the state government to go another year without a budget. Although I do expect them to find a solution, whether it be small or big for education reform.

8/28/17
I would describe my interest as moderate. I watch the news (because of my family), but some stuff is actually interesting. I would say that I have a basic understand of what's going on in our government due to the news, but its not a total understanding. I only like the national news, I do not like our local news.

I mostly focused my opinions of the candidates for the 2016 election based off of how they were represented in SNL. I know that's bad but honestly, both were train wrecks that were hard to watch and SNL made it entertaining.

I am a visionary learning, so reading the declaration and seeing the movie on how it was made helped me understand it, but of course it was hard to understand due to the fact that they used old English words and grammatical structure. I also spent a lot of time trying to figure out the actors names and where their from, which was really fun.

My favorite part of the reading was when they were bashing the king, by using their fancy old English language.

Mr. Smith Movie

1) At first, the movie was terrible. The movie was boring for the entire first half, but then it actually got interesting. I was surprised that I actually liked it as I usually have no attention span for movies in black a white. The ending was great, the beginning, I could honestly take it or leave it. My favorite part was towards the end when the kids were basically being beaten up by all the older men. I know that sounds bad, but it got my attention so fast. It made me feel bad for the children, but it also made me laugh. My least favorite part was the entire first half of the movie. I know that is long, but I can't remember anything about it except that he explored D.C. and brought some pigeons. I can't remember what the rest of the first half was about because it was that boring.

2. I think that if Mr. Smith were real, that he would belong to the democratic party. This is because he seemed to fight for the people and want to offer more services to the ordinary more average citizens of the United States. Republicans tend to cater to the wealthier and I believe the Mr. Smith was trying to incorporate his ideals that were more in lined with the democratic party in the movie, by trying to set up a camp for all boy rangers. I think that he would continue on in politics and try to fight the good man's fight. Basically I think that he stayed in Washington in order to help take down more corrupt politicians like Taylor and his fellow senator.

3. I believe that Jefferson Smith, can be compared to the Illinois representative Bill Foster. He represents the 11th district of Illinois, he has served this district since 2013, and he is up for reelection in 2018. Bill Foster was previously the representative for the 14th district, but that was from 2008-2010. As said earlier, I believed that Jefferson Smith would be considered a democrat in today's politics, and Representative Bill Foster is a democrat. I think that Mr. Smith would be a very active member of congress and I feel like he would do everything in how power to never miss a vote. Foster is like that in a way as he has only missed 35 out of 5,381 roll call votes. That means he's only missed 0.7% of the votes, which is a good commitment number, as it is lower than the average of 2.3%. Foster along with Mr. Smith believes in children and that is why 15% of the bills he has sponsored has been about education.
https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members/bill_foster/412257#

The poster for the movie:

Bill Foster, the representative compared to Mr. Smith.

Ron Bogoyevac is corrupt just like Senator Paine:
