Welcome to the "Guess the Story" Challenge! 

Every culture has stories that teach us who we are. We have recorded short snippets of our favorites—but we’ve kept the titles a secret!

Listen closely, look for clues, and see if you can solve the mystery. Let’s explore the world, one story at a time!

Share our traditional stories and learn about our partners' cultures.

 The Process

1. Record: Students record a short, mysterious audio or video clip of a story extract (without naming the story!).(30-60 seconds)

2. Upload: Post the clips to our shared Padlet board.

3. Guess: Partner schools listen to the clips and try to guess the title or origin of the story in the comments.

4. Discuss: Use the Padlet comments to talk about the "moral of the story" or what it teaches us about that culture.

What We Will Achieve

• Better Reading: Understanding deep meanings in stories from other countries.

• Stronger Communication: Building confidence in speaking and listening during the acitivities

To make sure everyone has a fair chance to guess, please follow these steps:

• Rule 1: No Spoilers! Don’t say the name of the story in your recording. 

• Rule 2: Listen & Guess. Listen to at least two clips from a partner school and write your guess in the comments.

• Rule 3: The "Why?" When you guess, write one thing you liked or found interesting about that culture's story.

• Rule 4: Be Kind. Always use polite language when commenting on your partners' work. 

• Rule 5: Reveal! After one week, the original posters will reply to the comments to reveal the true title and the "moral" of the story.

Before you hit "Record," check these 5 things:

 The "Hook": Did you pick an exciting part of the story (but not the ending)?

 The Mystery: Are you sure you didn't mention the title or the main character's name?

 Clear Voice: Are you speaking slowly and clearly so your partners can understand you?

 No Noise: Are you in a quiet spot? (No loud wind or background talking!)

 The Length: Is your clip between 30 and 60 seconds? (Short and sweet is best

Make it Creative!

• Sound Effects: Can you make a "door creak" or "wind whistling" sound to make it more dramatic?

• Tone: Use a "storytelling voice"—whisper for scary parts and speak up for the exciting parts!

💬The extract is performed as a dialogue, with each student playing the role of a different character.
