In a satire, unlike a parody, the author wants to affect change. Here the author wishes to evoke change in people's view of modern music.

What does your cartoon mean?

This cartoon is a satire because it ridicules modern-day music by comparing it to cavemen music. Cavemen are known for being unintelligent and uncreative, so the satirist illustrates cavemen playing both modern and ancient instruments. By doing so, he targets music and mocks it for its inconsistencies.

How is it relevant today

Today, in society some may consider music to be uncreative and not as influential as it should be in the advanced modern day. More complex instruments and methods for the creation of music may not be used mirroring the time period it's in. This relates to other things besides music too that have not reached their full potential and ability in the modern time that it is.

In this image, the author is satirizing people who argue for unimportant, meaningless things and the attention they often get over important matters. The author wishes to inspire change by encouraging people to argue more intensively for important issues over less significant issues.
