         <description><![CDATA[<p>Germany and the Soviet Union signed a non-aggresion pact and was a significant and unexpected development in the prelude to World War II. It half a secret protocol ran by Joseph Stalin and Joachim Von Ribbentrop that divided Eastern Europe into spheres of influence between the two powers. This caused two ideologically opposed regimes to come together and allowed for Germany to invade Poland, starting the beggining of World War 11.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Battle of Midway was a pivotal engagement for the Naval in the Pacific. The United States took advantage of the Japanese broken Naval codes and surprised them with an attack. This was a major battle for the Pacific as it weakend the Japanese advance and gave the United States the favor. The United States won and this changed the mindset of war because it showed the importance of having good aircraft and water fighting strategy and strength. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Allies attacked Japanese airbase in the Soloman Islands and was a gruesome battle ending with 24,000 dead. It was the first major force from the Allies to Japans empire, because the airbase Japan had created was threatening the supplies of the Allies. The allied forces of America and Australia fought for the land and caused for the Japansese forces to flee. This further halted Japan's military strength and showed the true bravery of the Allied Forces.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The United States President, Truman, ordered an invasion of Japan that was thought to cost a million lives, and later dropping a bomb that would be the quickest way to end a war. Over 140,000 Japanese citizens were killed in the atomic bombing and the radiation ended up killing even more. These bombings were super controversial and made many question the morality and ethics to having atomic bombs and the true reality of the damage they do. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>There was a big evacuation of British Allied forces from the beaches of Dunkirk, because of the German invasion of Britain. This caused for hundreds of thousands of the British troops to be trapped and Allied forces sourounded by the German forces. There was a big rescue mission and eventually 338,000 soldiers were rescused despite the enemy air attacks taking place over nine whole days. This displayed tons of bravery, determination, solidary, and courage. </p>]]></description>

The Battle was fought mostly in the skies over Britain, as Germany wanted to establish air superioty for a latter invasion they were planning. Because of the RAF's innovative strategies and utilized radar technology, their skilled pilots, won the fight and showed the importance of a strong aerial strategy. </p>]]></description>

         <title>The Fall of France, May 1940, France</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Hitlers army moved through the Ardennes and around the Maglnot Line to Reach Frances Nothern coast in 10 days and make France surrender. This was an event of rapid defeat for France, and despite their strong defense, Germany had cought them off-guard. Because of Germany's hard and fast hitting was tactics, France and other allied forces weren't able to keep up and ultimately lead to their defeat, with a surrender. This was a big shock and devastation for the French people that reshaped the course of the war and  showed the importance of being able to adapt to modern warfare. </p>]]></description>
