For on the beach my canoe is broken, my house is burned, and in the brush a dead man lies. Every escape is cut off. You must hide us, my brother."  Some of Kino's characteristics are that he is mentally strong and very poor too. He has a strong heart and supports his family and his culture with full support. Kino changes from the beginning to end by changing from a poor, nice, respectful person to a warrior, with a strong attitude and has experienced a lot, also he is homeless now.

Rising Action - It was a usual morning the fire Juana made was cooking corn cakes and Kino was relaxing until 

Climax - Kino was in the capital trying to sell the Pearl then on the beach he was attacked and had to kill the man so he wasn't the victim of murder.

Falling Action - They have to run away because the trackers are coming after them trying to kill Kino and retrieve the pearl. But, Kino ends up killing one of the Trackers and with that Coyotito gets killed by the other Tracker.

Kino's canoe enables him to catch fish and carries him to deeper waters, where he dives for pearls. The canoe also symbolizes the way to feed Kino
and his family.The scorpion symbolizes the evil that is found in nature

The Songs in The Pearl, are used as symbols throughout the book and are also used to foreshadow Kino's future.
