Kino- Kino's quote from the beginning of th story is "Oh, my brother, an insult has been put on me that is deeper than my life. For on the beach my canoe is broken, my house is burned, and in the brush a dead man lies. Every escape is cut off. You must hide us, my brother." Some of Kino's characteristics are that he is mentally strong and very poor too. He has a strong heart and supports his family and his culture with full support. Kino changes from the beginning to end by changing from a poor, nice, respectful person to a warrior, with a strong attitude and has experienced a lot, also he is homeless now.

The setting of the story is almost all of the city of La Paz, Mexico. But, specifically it was at the Church, Kino's house, the doctor's home and in the Ocean or shore surronding La Paz. Also, it was placed in the Capital and in Boats. So, as you can see there are many settings or ways places where the story is at.

The lesson from the Pearl is that big wealth brings destruction and ruin. Also lots of the time the more money you have the more greedy you are like you want more but when you have nothing you learn to accept it and you don't want more

How implement this lesson when wealthy kids make their kids spoiled by getting them what ever they want and they will keep getting things therefore making them more spoiled.

idiom- This story has been told so often that it has taken root of peoples heads. This is a idiom because roots don't take over peoples heads. Chapter 1

Personification- Juana's fire Leaped into a flame and threw spears of light. This is personification because fire cannot throw or leap. Chapter 1
Personification- The fierce light of the burning house lighted up strongly. Chapter 5

Personification- The sun arose hotly. This is personification because the sun isn't a living object so it can't rise. Chapter 6

Hyberbole- The land was waterless. This hyperbole because the land can't waterless because of the ground has water in it. Chapter 6

The pearl is a symbol of wealth which is quite ambivalent in its nature throughout the novel.
Kino's canoe enables him to catch fish and carries him to deeper waters, where he dives for pearls. The canoe also symbolizes the way to feed Kino
and his family. The scorpion symbolizes the evil that is found in nature

The Songs in The Pearl, are used as symbols throughout the book and are also used to foreshadow Kino's future.
