I have attached a playlist on Spotify containing all the songs for this activity. Please pick one song from the playlist, and make sure that no two pairs choose the same song.

After choosing your song, research it by visiting websites or other online sources to find the following information:

The singer or artist: Find out who performs the song and any interesting information about them, such as their style, background, or other songs they have made. This will help you understand the kind of music they create.

What the song is about: Try to understand the story, message, or theme of the song. Think about the lyrics and what the singer is trying to communicate.

The overall mood of the song: Identify the general feeling of the music.

How the song makes you feel: Write down your personal reaction to the song. Explain why you feel this way.

After finishing your research, we will proceed to the brainstorming stage, where you will plan your album cover using a mind map

Brainstorming Using Mind Map

After completing your research, you will begin the brainstorming process using a mind map to plan your album cover and its justifications. I have attached an example of a mind map using the song “Story of My Life” by One Direction to help you understand how to organise your ideas.

For your mind map, you must choose one example for each category: visual, colour, and imagery. Under each example, write three short justifications explaining:

How it connects to the mood or emotion of the song

How it represents the message or story of the song

How it shows the feeling the song gives you personally

The completed mind map will serve as a guidance and reference for the next task, which is designing your album cover.
