Common criteria: immediecy of impact

Individuals have a more important role to play in working for the good of society as they can carry out whatever they want to do faster and simpler (smaller-scale, easier to carry out). This allows their impact to be felt sooner. While NGOs require more planning and time to carry out these plans so their impact will be felt later.

NGOs are more important than individuals as they are here for the long run and not just to fix the short term issues singaporeans are facing. NGO activities include, but are not limited to, environmental, social, advocacy and human rights work. they can work to promote social or political change on a broad scale or very locally.

Common criterion : Impact
NGOs are more important than individuals in contributing to the good of society because NGOs have a greater impact on the good of society since NGOs are a larger group and would have more time and effort devoted to obtain their objectives, thus having a bigger impact on the good of society while individuals usually are a smaller group, this there are less people devoting time and effort to obtain their short term objectives, therefore having a smaller impact on the good of society.

NGOs have more important roles to play than individuals in working for the good of society because NGOs enable citizens to work together to work together voluntarily to promote social values and civic goals which are important to them. They have large amounts of resources to target a larger group of people compared to individuals who can only help a smaller group of people. NGOs can also facilitate communication from the people to the government, so that the government is aware of the people's needs and can thus aim to meet them.
