         <description><![CDATA[<div>My child seems keen to learn and enjoys the collaboration in the classroom. There is  a sense of pride when he discusses his work/day.<br>It was great to attend this evening to understand the scope of BYOD learning , and be able to sound out perceived issues. I'd like to understand how KNS is actively monitoring and implementing the pros/cons of device based learning in current research studies. I worry about certain health outcomes from posture, proximity of EMR with wifi etc.<br>Handwriting is also a concern of mine.I was taught cursive writing in Yr7 equivalent and have read studies about it's long term benefits for example.<br>My thanks to teachers for time and detailed.presentation this evening. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Overwhelmingly the academic literature in education and pedagogy suggests that the use of technology has no impact on learning outcomes.  In fact many studies suggest negative outcomes.  For example the following are studies from the last two-three years.  An OECD study of 15 year olds showed that computer users had significantly lower academic acheivement.  A study of reading ability and comprehension when reading from devices compared to screens showed a significant deficit in screen readers.  Another that University students who wrote notes on paper had better results than those who took notes on computers.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I noted the comment on posture. Good point. Perhaps a PTA project could fund an adjustable stand-up desk, so they can try it out and be aware that it exists and why. They are showing up a fair bit in the workplace, but you have to learn a new way to work -good to start that young!</div>]]></description>
