Arthur Eddington is best known for his confirmation on Einstein's General Theory Of Relativity, the bending of light due to gravity, and his early adoption and popular expositions of relativity. He is also known for his great understanding of the stars and astronomy. His fame lasted from 1906-1930. While all his fame lasted he stayed at the place he was born which was England, he never married and almost never left his home, England.

How he contributed to Science

Eddington studied astronomy, physics, and math. But he really focused more on astronomy, stars, constellations, meteors, etc. He discovered new constellations and what a shooting star really is. He also contributed to physics but that's beside the point. He studied really hard and ended but being secretary of of the Royal Astronomical Society, and he died being the secretary. "Eddington’s observations and photographs during a solar eclipse on the African island of Príncipe in 1919 effectively confirmed Einstein's predictions of a slight shift in starlight caused by the gravitational field of the Sun."
