I taught in an Akanksha School in Yerwada. The kids that came to this school lead difficult lives, they witnessed violence every single day. What they saw everyday was what was reflected in the class as well. Disruptive and defiant behaviour was the normal. In an attempt to bring in resources so that the kids learn better and have a holistic learning experience, I raised funds. With these funds we got classroom supplies and art supplies for the class. I wanted everyone to be invested in my kids learning. I believe the second milestone of my year was after MoY, when I introduced a new structure to invest the parents. I started having PTSM every 2 weeks and I also called one parent a day to inform them of something good that their kid had done in class.
