• The theme/message I tried to achieve was like a dystopian/abstract world compared to our own. I think that I've achieved it somewhat but it needs more editing in photoshop.

What artist inspired this project? How did you expand on their original photo, series, or body of work?

• The artist that inspired this project was David Noton. I originally wanted to go for his type of nature landscape art style with a beautiful sky. However, at this time it was hard for me to access the type of nature images that he had, so I took a picture of a city and transformed the sky to make it beautiful like in David's pictures.

How did you improve your photo in Photoshop?

• Rules of composition that kind of used were leading lines, somewhat rule of thirds, and balance between the background, middle ground, foreground, and subject. I improved my photo in photoshop so far by adjusting colors and tones of the background and my subject.

The theme of my photo was the beauty of nature. My focus subject of the image was the flower with the bee on it. I believe that I achieved this because I have a clear subject in which I used a wider aperture to make it stand out more, as well as used a macro lens to get a clear close up of the subject.

• What artist inspired this project? How did you expand on their original photo, series, or body of work?

I was inspired by Galen Rowell because he captures photographs similarly to what I hope to achieve to capture. For example, I love looking at nature/landscape photos along with the high resolution and saturation colors style that Rowell is known for. I expanded on this by photographing nature (flower) and making the colors more prominent by increasing the saturation just like he is known for.

• What rules of composition did you use?

Some rules of composition that I used were asymmetrical imagery in which I cropped in photoshop to use the rule of thirds. Another composition I used was creating a shallow depth of field by using a wider aperture to make the flower in focus while the background is not.

• How did you improve your photo in Photoshop?

I improved my photo in Photoshop by changing the levels to make the colors more prominent. Then I increased the vibrance and a little bit of the saturation of the photo. Next I decreased the yellow saturation making the colors of the photo less of a yellow hue. Lastly I masked the bee and increase the brightness and colors to make it stand out a little more than it did before.

• The intention of this photo was to express emotion through lighting. I think I achieved this, as there are multiple emotions one could interpret this photo expressing

• This photo wasn't really inspired by any photographer in particular, but I was inspired to take subject photography by Jack Bridgland

• I mainly used color to isolate the subject of my photo

• The only thing I really did to change my photo in photoshop was changing the brightness so that it is easier to see
