If someone is treating another poorly, it could be really negative for the relationship. It is most likely that the person who is being treated bad wants out of the relationship or the want the other person to stop what they are doing that harms them either mentally or physically.

Why do some people stay friends or stay in a relationship when they are not being treated respectfully?

Most people stay in unhealthy relationships in which they are being treated badly because of peer pressure or have no other choice as it seems like. Peer pressure is a big deal, someone may not be confident to stand up to the other person either. Some people may also think that they have no other choice, for example, if they only have one friend then it may be hard for them to break that friendship. Or if that friendship has been going on for so long and the person means a lot to them, even if they are not being treated respectfully, some people will think it's a better choice to stay.

Your friend has sent you a really cruel message and you do not know why.

The risk involves having to make a choice in order to determine the future outcomes of this situation. This includes confronting or asking your friend about this questionable message in order to get things straight, the risk depends on their reaction. Your friend could be understanding of your point of view or they could be not which is the risk. They could get frustrated or angry at you for whatever hidden reason it may be for them to send the message in the first place. However, instead of taking this risk, the receiver of the message could take another. Instead, they could keep quiet and continue to receive these harsh messages. This would be another risk as it could really affect their mental health and social life.

Most of the feelings involved in this situation would depend on the outcome and the choices the person who receives the message makes. However, it is certain that the receiver of the message feels sad. They may be confused and unsure what they did to deserve these cruel messages, and sometimes even blame it on themselves. The one who gives these messages, even though they are in the wrong, may have emotions in this situation too. They may be feeling angry or annoyed by this person which may be the reason to write these cruel messages. It may also be because they are just bored and want entertainment.

To manage this risk, the easy way to get rid of the whole situation in the first place is to block the person out. If they are being outright mean, it is best to block them and not think about it at all. Get distracted by more import things, like the people who really care about you or you studies and health.

You have been away on a sports trip. It was agreed before you left that your sister would pick you up from the clubrooms when you got back at 9.30 pm. When she arrives, you notice that she is not walking straight and is slurring her words.

There are many risks in this situation, first of all, as the sister is clearly high, if she is underage then it is a big problem. If the sister is not, the other risk is how the both of them going to get back home. If the sister comes to pick you up from a car, it is another massive risk because it is illegal to drive and drink. In the other case, if the sister walked to you to pick you up, as the sister is the only guardian available to pick you up and she is high, it may not be possible for either of you to know the exact way to get home. You could get easily lost which is an additional risk.

The feelings coming from your sister wouldn't be that much, she may not be fully aware of the situation. However, in your case, you may be feeling nervous and anxious, not knowing what you should do. Some may even feel confused in this situation, and scared. Scared for what could happen next.

To resolve all these risks, instead of taking on this situation all by yourself, the sensible decision is to ask an adult. You could ask to borrow their phone for a bit to call your mum or dad, or someone you trust to pick you and your sister up.

After a health lesson about personal safety, your best friend tells you that he knows someone who is being hit at home by a stepfather and older brother. He won’t tell you who it is.

This situation has various risks, one of which is the main problem, the anonymous family member being continuously harmed. The other risk of the situation depends on your choice, if you inform someone about this, your relationship with your best friend could be harmed as he wouldn't expect you to do such things (even though it is the correct decision) and go into his privacy to report this for him.

The feelings involved in this situation would differentiate. However, you would mainly feel anxious and nervous about if you should get involved to help. You would also feel scared about the outcomes if you do report it and even worse, if you do not.

This risk could be easily managed by informing your friend that the situation with their stepfather and the family member being harmed is not right, and telling them that it is best to report it before it gets worse. Overall, in this situation, you or your best friend should report this.

If we were all a cookie-cutter version of one another, we would lose the rich diversity of experiences, beliefs, interests, and perspectives that make us all unique individuals. Having diverse perspectives and experiences allows us to better understand each other and the world around us, and enables us to come up with creative solutions to challenges we face.

It is important to create an open, supportive environment at GIHS for LGBTQ+ students and staff. This can be done through education, training, policy implementation, and the creation of support networks. By creating a safe and inclusive environment, we can help ensure that GIHS is a place where all people can feel comfortable being themselves.

The emotional response to challenging situations, such as jumping from a 15m bank into a water hole, can be influenced by a range of factors. These factors include individual differences, personal history, social influences, expectations, and mood. For example, someone who is afraid of heights may feel fear and anxiety, while someone who is risk-averse may feel hesitant and uncertain. Previous injuries or close calls can also affect a person's willingness to take risks. Peer pressure from friends can also influence a person's emotional response. An individual's expectations about their own abilities and the potential outcome of the scenario can also affect their emotional response. Finally, mood can have a significant impact on how someone approaches a risky situation. Understanding these factors can help an individual make a more informed decision about whether to go along with such a dare or not.

Respect looks like paying attention to what the other person is saying and acknowledging their feelings and opinions. Respect feels like being valued and appreciated for who you are, and not being judged for your differences or flaws. Respect sounds like having open communication, being honest and upfront, and being kind and empathetic towards the other person.

Respect in relationships is important because it helps to create a safe and trusting environment, which is essential for the relationship to flourish. When there is respect, partners feel valued and appreciated for who they are, which increases their sense of self-esteem and confidence in their relationship. This, in turn, creates stability in the relationship, as both partners are able to communicate openly and honestly, and not be judged for their opinions. Furthermore, respect helps partners to set boundaries and create a healthier dynamic, as they are able to express their needs and expectations and be understood and heard by the other person.
