From today’s topic, I have learnt digital literacy including definition of digital literacy,key elements,types, purposes, implication of digital literacy.  

b) How does this connect to my prior knowledge?

As I already know  about texting literacy, how to use hyperlink properly, fact checking of news from one of my previous courses language, media & communication, that’s  why I can connect this topic with my previous experience.

c) What could be done differently?

I think, an individual short speech could have been done for better understanding. 

From today's topic, I have learned about digital citizenship and the nine elements of digital citizenship. Besides, we did a group discussion, writing task on this topic by answering questions like information access & evaluation, digital communication, using digital tools, online collaboration, digital safety and responsibility, ethical use of information etc.

b) How does this connect to my prior Knowledge?

As I'm a digital citizen in today's digital world it connect with my prior knowledge. I use social media to chat and communicate with others as well as to keep in touch with updated information. Most of the time I do online shopping. Also, by using variable character, symbol I set a strong password to secure my account. I put reference at the end in my assignment.

c) What could be done differently?

I think, a question-and-answer session could be held at the end of the class to check better understanding.

I learned the definitions and scope of Technology Enhanced Language Learning (TELL) and Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL). I noticed how Warschauer emphasizes different stages of CALL, while Bax focuses on normalization, where technology becomes invisible in language learning.

b) How does this connect to my prior knowledge?

I think this connects with my classroom experiences where teachers sometimes use PowerPoint or apps, but not fully integrate them. Sometimes l learn through an online collaboration environment by doing class on Google meet and Zoom. I realized that my earlier experience was closer to “restricted CALL” rather than normalized practice, which shows me the gap between theory and practice.

c) What could done differently?

I think more interactive examples or short demonstrations of CALL tools could make the theories clearer. I noticed that using videos of real classrooms with technology would help me visualize Bax’s idea of normalization better, instead of relying only on definitions and explanations.

I learned that digital tools such as Answerthis.oi, Deepseek, Diffit.com,Canva.com, Piktochart.com and Gitmind.com can make reading practice more interactive. These apps can create comprehension tasks, mind maps, and visuals that support deeper understanding. I realized technology can transform reading into a more engaging process.

b) How does this connect to my prior knowledge?
I think it connects with my earlier experience of using simple PDFs and online texts, but now I see how much richer learning can be with interactive tools. I noticed that visuals and mind maps support retention better than plain reading. This extends what I already knew about digital learning.

c) What could be done differently?
I feel the session could have included a short group activity where we tried one of the apps hands-on. That would give me a clearer idea of how to design tasks for students. I also think some real classroom examples could have shown the impact more vividly.

I learned how tools like LiFT can provide real-time linguistic feedback to improve accuracy in grammar, spelling, pronunciation. I noticed that such tools can reduce teachers’ workload while helping students self-correct and build confidence in their writing.
