The alarm reaction would be the initial fight. This would cause a stressor to enter and increase the hormones in the body. The resistance stage would be the first week or so into the breakup, you start to develop signs of disorders such as anxiety or depression. I know when i went through a tough breakup, i tended to sleep a lot and not eat during this time. The exhaustion stage hit for me around the 2 to 3 week range. I never wanted to get out of bed and it was tough to find motivation to do daily tasks. Thankfully it did not last but a few months!!!!
