The page will be divided into 4 — different sections:

One smaller area at the top of the page
Two columns
One area at the bottom of the page.

There are 4 important parts to Cornell Notes:

The small area at the top is where you write the learning intention.
The column on the left is where you write the keywords or main ideas.
The column on the right is where you write your notes
The space at the bottom is where you write your summary.

The structure of your notes in your notebook may differ in grades 6-8, but the elements similar.
