Feeling emotions is completely normal. We feel negative and positive emotions, which both actually help us.

Negative emotions can damage your mental health. When your mood is low for a long time, your probability of depression will increase. Some scientists also speculate that prolonged high stress may lead to the deterioration of delusions, fantasies and schizophrenia. And besides affecting mental health, emotions may also affect your immune system. If you have a lot of negative emotions, your probability of getting sick will increase, while if you have a lot of optimistic emotions, your probability of getting sick will decrease. In terms of sleep, some people suffer from insomnia, and there is a 50% chance that it is caused by negative emotions.

If you experience negative emotions for several days in a row, you may need to consult a therapist.

Recognizing your emotions and learning to manage them is one of the most important skills you can have.

Emotions can play an important role in how you think and behave. The emotions you feel each day can make you to take action and influence the decisions you make about your life, both large and small. People who are good at noticing how they feel and can calm themselves down or adjust their behavior are more likely to have healthy relationships with other people. Our emotions can greatly affect our mood and behaviors. If you are feeling angry, anxious or worried a lot it can have an impact on friendships, family relationships, and schoolwork.

Scientists have discovered that our emotions are often caused by our thoughts . This means two people could be in the same situation, but they might feel different emotions because they have different thoughts. Maybe you have noticed this with your own friends and family. For example, imagine two people who are going bungee jumping, one people might think "Ahhhhh, this is so scary! ".This might happen since this guy is afraid of heights, the other people might think "This is cool!!" This might happen if this guy already went bungee jumping before. Scientists have found that certain kinds of thoughts often lead to certain emotions. For example, when someone thinks, “I am in danger,” that person would probably feel fear. Or, when someone thinks, “I just got what I wanted,” that person would probably feel happy.Sometimes people feel emotions even though they don’t notice any thoughts related to those emotions. This can be hard to understand. However, scientists have found that sometimes your brain can trigger an emotion unconsciously. This means that your brain might notice something in your situation and trigger an emotional reaction, all without you even noticing it. In fact, scientists have found that our brains do lots of things that we don’t notice. These are called “unconscious processes".

Emotions
Introduction

When you woke up this morning, did you think that you might fight with your parents about some small thing? Actually, it's not too hard to control your own emotions, it needs strategies and some practice. This essay will explore both positive and negative emotions, what causes emotions, and how you can manage your own emotions.

The Importance of Both Positive and Negative Emotion

Feeling both positive and negative emotions is a natural part of being human. We might use the phrase "negative emotion" to describe bad emotions, but it doesn't mean those emotions are bad or we shouldn't have them. Still, most people would probably rather feel a positive emotion than a negative one. You might want to feel happy instead of feeling sad or energetic over stress.

But still, how do positive and negative emotions help us? Well, let's start with negative emotions. Negative emotions warn us of threats or challenges that we may need to deal with. For example, fear can alert us to possible danger. It's a signal that we might need to protect ourselves or avoid danger. Now how do positive emotions help us? Positive emotions affect our brains in ways that increase our awareness, attention, and memory. While positive emotion increases our awareness, attention, and memory, which means negative emotion does the opposite thing. People who have plenty of positive emotions in their everyday lives tend to be happier, healthier, learn better, and get along well with others.

The Causes of Different Emotions

Now, let's talk about the causation of emotions. Scientists have discovered that our emotions are often caused by our thoughts. This means two people could be in the same situation, but they might feel different emotions because they have different thoughts. Maybe you have noticed this with your own friends and family. For example, imagine two people who are going bungee jumping, one person might think "Ahhhhh, this is so scary! ". This might happen since this guy has no experience of bungee jumping, the other people might think "This is so cool!!" This might have happened if this guy had already gone bungee jumping before.

How to Manage our Emotions

People often do things to try to feel better when they’re sad, angry, anxious, embarrassed, or otherwise in pain. Take some time to recognize your emotions and just sit with your feelings. It can be uncomfortable, but it’s an important step for working through them.

After you have learned to spot the mental and physical cues of your emotions, you can then find ways of expressing them. There are many ways you can express your feelings in a constructive and helpful way. Talking to others is one of the best methods to get your feelings out. Consider a best friend, a parent, or a teacher. Anger can be one of the most difficult emotions to express because what you do when you are angry may not be acceptable. You can use stress management techniques to conquer anger. Try screaming into a pillow or doing something you like; you can also try tearing some paper.

Conclusion

Now you know how to control your emotions, go use the method I told you when you feel strong feeling guilty and mad. Now you won't need to worry about fighting with family or friends as you know how to manage your emotions.
