The first reaction to a breakup with someone you've been dating for five years is the alarm reaction. You would probably begin to have less of an appetite or lack of energy due to the depression of getting over someone you've been with for a long time. The second reaction is the stage of resistance. You would start eating again and working again, but due to you not eating a lot for awhile or not working much, you may feel sick. The last stage is exhaustion. By the time that you have gone through those two stages, your body has had enough and begins to feel weak again.
