He and his fellow men were happy to escape their horrible director. Nothing was ever heard about her again. From then on, Miss Honey moves into her father's house, becomes a school director and Matilda moves to a more advanced class. Matilda's parents fled town for the unlawful things they did but Matilda took Mrs Honey who adopted her.

The Book Thief is a story by Marcus Zusak, directed by Brian Persival and starring Sophie Néliss (Liessel Meminger), which was released in 2014.
Liessel is adopted by the Hubermann family when her father "abandons" her family and her mother is forced to give her up for adoption. Her younger brother Werner dies on the way to the Hubermann house. Over time, she grows fond of Hans Hubermann, her foster father, and has a strained but loving relationship with her foster mother, Rosa. She befriends Max, the Jew the Hubermans hide; as 
well as the mayor's wife, who allows Liesel to read, borrow, and steal books from her library. She also befriends the other Himmelstrasse kids, like Rudy Steiner, who becomes her best friend. The books saved her life, because when Himmelstrasse was bombed she was writing in the basement of her house. He chose the basement as a place to spend time because there he shared the love of words with Max, and it was there that he learned to read and write.
Once the city has been bombed, when she is in the basement, she saves herself and goes to live with Rudy's family, who also dies in the bombing.
