So far, it's been bearable, but the problem is a lack of motivation to complete it. The homework I do have isn't graded, so it feels unnecessary and set up just to waste our free time. If the homework assignments actually had a grade attached to them, then students would probably complete them more often.

Over the years homework gets more and more important. If you start the habit of not doing your homework early the habit will be harder to break when you get older .So if I were you I would start the habit of doing your homework early. Homework helps you more than the teachers. The teachers dont want to just hand out homework, they hand it out to help you. How does homework help you, well homework gives you practice on what you are doing in class. Also homework is like a mini test practice. You can write or type the answers, and normally you will go over them the  day it is due. It may teach us responsibility but we already have to deal with that during the school day. For classes like math where we use it for a test, we still shouldn't have it.
