The bird can see the world that it was meant to explore from the cage that it is trapped in. The Bird wants to leave and fly through the world like it was designed to, but the cage does not budge. The bird eventually takes trying to get out to an extreme. The bird beats the walls of the cage so much that is begins to bleed. The freedom that bird wants, is the freedom that it will never have, because it is trapped in the cage.
