Between the years 2005 to 2007, I'm not sure what year but when I was around 3 years old I was diagnosed with Leukemia. This was a type of blood cancer and I had to go through chemotherapy as well as take many medicines. They even checked my sister due to the fact that we were twins and she could have had it as well. I don't remember much except having some sort of thing on my chest when I got home from a checkup and a scar that's leftover from it. This made a large impact on my life because I still go to get my blood and heart checked. I've gone so many times in the past years I'm used to it now. I don't remember much but I always seem to empathize with others that were in the same situation as me.

The first day of Middle School for me was very important due to the fact that this was all very new to me. The school I started at started Middle school at 5th grade and that whole first year taught me to take responsibility for work and getting to classes. The years after had also contributed to helping time management and how to collaborate with peers.

In my 7th grade year of Middle school, the school had something of a camp for a seasonal break. The camp would be for 5 days in the woods, it would be like camping but with nicer buildings to sleep in. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was, it made me realize how to be more independent even with my sister there. We were split into different groups and also at different tables when eating most of the time. Even in school we could eat together and still talk during breaks even when we didn't have school together. The building we slept in was the same one, but most of the time we were outside doing camp activities. This allowed me to be independent because I was by myself and didn't really talk to people so I thought to myself a lot.

First day of High School August, 2018 - 2019

The first day of High school was a very stressful one because I believed that it would be way harder than middle school. It eventually did become harder but the beginning was a lot of review and it actually wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. That day and year of high school was important because it made me realize that I had to decide what I wanted to do in the future. At first I chose engineering as a career choice but realized that even if I do enjoy it it might not be something I would want to do my entire life. When I took chemistry though, that's when I realized that I do enjoy learning about chemistry and how the different elements react. This also came from a project I did in elementary school about a chemist who contributed to making medicine we have today. This was Gertrude B. Elion and I wanted to somehow be like her and I want to help people who were like me when I was 3.

Yuki was the name of my pet dog, she was very old at the age of 16 in human years. It just happened out of the blue one day, I knew she was old but I didn't expect it. She was really weak and could barely get up, we went to the vet and had to wait a while. My mom, sister, and myself waited outside as my dad waited inside we took pictures of Yuki. I reassured myself that they would be able to help her, but it was that she was just really old. When she was admitted into the vet she stayed there overnight. The next day the vet told us that they couldn't do anything for her since it was most likely just old age and her liver was shutting down. We had to put her down, she looked really peaceful. It was a time in my life when I realized that everyone could die eventually and that I should treasure them for as long as they live.

Today I'm doing pretty well and I feel very accomplished for making it to Junior year. I also passed my AP exams from last year with a score of 3/5. All in all everything is fine and everything I've learned up until now has definitely shaped who I am as a person. In the future I'm hoping to get a stable job as a chemist and continue to work hard.
