How: They fled from the Vilna Ghetto and found shelter outside the city

Why: They didn't want to be led to death like sheep to the slaughter. They had already found out that the Nazis were killing them instead of sending them to "Labor camps" and they realized it was better to go down fighting then die willingly

What: Kovner led a group of resistance fighters outside the terrible city and to the Soviet Union resistance group that kept them safe. (Success)

Created the Jewish Combat Organization. Then fought Nazis trying to take Jews to death camps and organized bunkers, this was to keep Nazis from destroying the ghetto. Many died in the battle. Later some jews were able to hide for a month. But were eventually all caught and sent to camps.

What- After the revolt the Nazis killed all of the Sonderkommandos; the group in the crematorium, and traced the gunpowder back to the work camp and killed the women involved in the smuggling.

She resisted by joining the resistance and sneaking a group of people some Jews, some not into Hungary. One day she was caught with a fake ID and was taken to a police station with a few of their friends. They stayed in the jail for a few weeks and was soon taken to a train that was headed to Auschwitz.
