The ideas in this painting are important because the prison system affects its prisoners mental health negatively. They connect to College Behind Bards and/or the justice system by showing how some prisoners avoid having this issue by pursuing a degree and doing school work. They're able to focus on something else besides how much time they have left. My ideas about the painting are the same as my teammates. The ideas in this painting are important because it shows how the prisoner feels how he's being treated and how the world sees him and they connect to College Behind Bars and/ or the justice system by treating prisoners like some dangerous animal. That stereotype around prisoners effects them in a negative light and gives them a bad mindset of someone who is a monster to the outside world.

One of them shows that there is always an opportunity, if you can notice it and use it wisely. Another ideas in this picture are important because the light that comes through the window could be referring to an opportunity. The man is sitting in there reading a book using the light that comes through the window and they connect to College Behind Bars and/or the justice system by referring to the prisoners who saw the opportunity and using them wisely to improve themselves and to become a better person while they are in prison. My ideas about the painting are similar to my partners because this painting perfectly matched the College Behind Bars, who used the opportunity and took a chance. They were diligent and motivated about reforming themselves even behind the bars.
