         <description><![CDATA[<div>John D. Rockefeller was born July 8, 1839. In the 1860s he jumped into the oil business after  seeing production in Western Pennsylvania. By 1863 his refinery was the largest in the area. By 1870 he created the Standard Oil Company which began to prosper immediately. Rockefeller then began to buy  competing companies until 1890 where Standard Oil was seen as a monopoly and was dissolved due to the Sherman Antitrust Law. When he retired from daily operations in 1895 he committed the rest of his life to helping others.</div>]]></description>

Standard Oil started in Ohio and grew to be one of the biggest companies in America. In 1911 it was dissolved by the government because it was seen as a monopoly.</div>]]></description>
