    India is the 7th largest country in the world with 3.287.263 km² .
       The population of India is 1,147,995,904 according to 2008 statistics. 
    India has 21 officialy recognised languages.

Given the range of diversity in soil type climate and occuptions, these cuisines vary significantly from each other and use locally available spices, herbs,vegetables and fruits. Indian food is also heavily influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. Indian people eat often Dosa, this is composed of vegetables chiefly potatoes, and a lot of spices, and they eat that for breackfast !! They eat also a lot of spicy soup with lump of vegetables and meat.

1915, After studying law in Britain and fighting for Indian rights in South Africa, Mohandas Gandhi launches a campaign of nonviolent resistance against British rule in India. Gandhi is called Mahatma meaning "Great Soul”.

In 1947 India gains independence from the British and is divided into two countries, India and Pakistan.
