Dental hygienists will typically have to do duties such as remove tartar, stains and plaque from the teeth. Another duty they have is to apply sealants and fluorides in order to help protect a patient's teeth. Dental hygienists also may have to take and develop dental x-rays. They will have to examine a patient's oral health and report their findings back to the dentist.
