While I understand that there are environmental reasons for the uneven ground, I think it is worrisome to think about how harmful this problem can be. I am young and healthy and still trip and worry about hurting myself. Walking home I saw a tremendous amount of trash on the sidewalk. Keep in mind that there is a trash can right near the location of this picture. However, when the puddles become Large enough that you have to walk through them and get your shoes wet, that's a problem. It also shows how uneven the sidewalks are and that not everything is leveled. This strikes me as needing a change because not only is this a narrow two way street with street parking, the root from the tree extends to the crosswalk and road. This is a common problem around the city that needs to be fixed as it is harmful to tires and/or hubcaps which can be dangerous when operating a car. One of the things I wish could receive some general change would be the parking garage. So many people drive so fast and don’t use their lights and it causes a lot of backup when trying to get in or out. Going around the corners and not being able to see people or people just speeding around the corners causes a lot of people to get stuck or have to move when people could drive just a little safer. My friend's house is a perfect example. Underneath her apartment is a giant pit for water to collect in, but over years her porch has completely lifted up and slated from water damage, also damaging doors and the foundation for the second floor. During the pandemic I think littering decreased because a lot of us were in lockdown but since masks have become a need for everyone I have seen them lying on the streets everywhere! It breaks my heart because not only does it hurt the environment but it harms the wildlife. Many animals like birds can get caught in the straps of masks, and can’t get out.
