After the war he helped manufacturer the railroads in the northwest of the United States.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Hopkins was born in 1813 in Arizona. He was also one of the four who was an investor in the railroad Central Pacific. Once the Gold Rush started in California he created "New England Mining and Trading", sending 26 men to California where he invested $500 to purchase goods. He was the eldest of the four. He migrated from New York to California during the Gold rush, becoming the governor. He was president of the Southern Pacific Railroad. He had a lot of power in the region due to being president of S.P.R and as well Central Pacific.
