In a country where there is a lot of unemployment and not a lot of job opportunities like in South Africa the implementation of EMI in the classroom helps create opportunities for workers in the future.Workers who can speak and communicate in more than 1 language in their workplace has an advantage above someone that only can speak one, this creates an opportunity for learners to have edge over others when they apply for work.

EMI in the classroom provides learners in South Africa with tools to go international.English is one of most used languages around the world. This creates a opportunity for South Africans to go study or work overboard thus creating job opportunities for future workers in another country.Making people more aware of South-Africa and its history.

South-Africa is a tourist destination therefore most people who come to our country cannot speak any of our 11 languages except for maybe English.By using EMI in the classroom it gives learners the opportunity to communicate with others who cannot speak the same language as them.
