RIS is a truly international school with a diverse student and staff community and it is our endeavour to provide the best possible learning experience to each child in a safe and respectful environment.

As Grade Five is the last year of junior school, the team strives to provide expanded
opportunities to acquire the skills to become life-long learners and productive citizens in a multi-cultural environment and thus pave way for the next phase of their learning journey - the middle and high school.

My team and I are responsible for the smooth day to day running of the P.E. department.  We continue to focus on cross curricular links, organize and coach team sports and participate in interschool competitions.  The promotion of a healthy lifestyle is very important and is constantly encouraged through healthy eating weeks, competition, lunchtime activities, homework and regular communication with parents regarding healthy habits beyond the school environment.   

The school is growing and more focus is spent implementing the curriculum.  We have spent time designing yearly, long-term and weekly plans for the department to follow and adapt.  All plans include lessons that are engaging, inclusive and supportive to learning.  As a department we stay up-to-date with the latest educational research concerning both P.E. and A.S.A’s.   

Please let me know if you have an interest in coaching any of our teams, and helping us in our quest to develop sport at RIS.   We look forward to a great sporting year with new and returning staff.

My role will be working alongside KG2, Grade 1 and 2 to improve curriculum standards and to ensure the curriculum is exciting and interesting as well as monitoring pupils progress across the year.

I believe all children have a talent and that we as educators need to find the key to each child to unlock their full potential.

I look forward to meeting with you all from September and I am thoroughly looking forward to my new role.
