         <description><![CDATA[<div>.Our chosen neighborhood is Changi, which is located in the geographical location of Tanah Merah, in the East region of Singapore.<br><br>Brief history: In the 1860s, Changi was famous for its sago plantations. Its attractive coast, which included the beach Pantai Chantik, was a popular picnic site. Generally a flat terrain, Changi had three main hills: Battery Hill, Fairy Point Hill and Temple or Changi Hill. Around 1901, Changi was also the haunt of tigers.<br><br>3 interesting facts:<br>1) Changi has a hawker centre in Changi Village, well-known for its seafood, aptly due to its location, nearby the coast. <br>2) The Old Changi Hospital is an interesting building located in the area, with many speculating that the souls of many WW2 soldiers are forever trapped.<br>3) Changi Prison is another interesting landmark where many criminals are sent to reflect on their crimes.<br><br>3 places of interest in Singapore:<br>1) Jewel Changi Airport. The place is not only for tourists to enjoy, but for locals as well. There are countless shops to shop at, whether for food, clothes, or other things. There are also attractions, such as Topiary Walk and Canopy Park, where the visitors can leisurely walk or take photos. <br><br>2) Changi Chapel Museum. The museum opened at its current location on 15 February 2001 to coincide with the 59<sup>th</sup> anniversary of the fall of Singapore to the Japanese in 1942. The Museum serves as a space where POWs and civilian prisoners and their families can find closure from the war. It also allows tourist and Singaporeans to learn more about the World II. Visitors can view photographs, drawings and letters by prisoners and take a 45-minute guided tour around the site. Audio tours that relate the experiences of men and women who were imprisoned at Changi are also available. <br><br>3) Changi Airport Connector. This place is good for recreational activities. Parents can bring their children here to cycle and visit the dinosaur exhibits. After aa long day there, you can unwind at a cafe called, 'HUB &amp; SPOKE Cafe'<br><br>Some other places in Changi:<br>1) Old Changi Hospital <br>2) Japanese School<br>3) Changi Prison <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Our neighbour is Yishun<br>History of Yishun:<br>Yishun carries the legend of a pineapple pioneer who was called Lim Nee Soon. As the years passed, Nee Soon was translated to Yishun in Mandarin, as Lim Nee Soon was a prominent industrialist who specialized in the trade of pineapples and rubber. Other than these plantations, he was also a banker, contractor and general commission agent.<br><br>3 interesting facts:<br>-You can trade away unwanted books at Yishun BLK 290<br>- Yishun is infamously known for being the most terrifying place to live in, owing to their reputation of bizarre cases. From cat killings to a notorious drug syndicate, the mysterious within Yishun knows no earthly boundaries.<br>-There is a stall in Yishun selling ants to people at  Blk 928, Yishun Central 1<br><br>3 place of interest in Singapore<br>- Sungei Buloh: As it offers many different varieties of animal and insect species. It also offers places that will make good for Photo taking<br><br>- Haji lane: It is known as Singapore's hip and trendy neighbourhood. This long, narrow road is lined with fusion restaurants, eclectic shops, and unusual concept boutiques<br><br>Pasir Ris<br>Pasir Ris is home to one of the best water parks in south east asia. From rapid high-rise slides to giant wavepools, there is no shortage of fun in this water park in the east, known as Wild Wild Wet. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Our neighbourhood is Pasir Ris.<br><br>Brief History:<br>Pasir Ris was first referenced to a village Passier Reis, in 1852, where the headman's son was purportedly killed by a tiger. Pasir Ris was originally a low-lying, undeveloped are with kampongs and villages, such as Kampong Pasir Ris, Kampong Bahru and various Chinese kampongs along Elias Road. <br><br>3 interesting facts in Pasir Ris:<br>- Prawnaholic, beside Pasir Ris Swimming Complex at Fareground. Sells Prawn Mee.<br>- Block 131 Pasir Ris Street 11 has a cool design in its architecture. Great for pictures for tourists. <br>-  Wild Wild Wet.<br><br>3 places of interest in Singapore:<br>- Visit the Floating Apple Shop at Marina Bay. Since Singapore is the first one in the world to ae a floating Apple Store. This would surely attract many tourists.<br>- Go Hydrodash at Sentosa with family/friends. Hydrodash is a fun activity which is a giant inflatable obstacle course in the middle of the Sentosa Beach, Palawan Beach. Life vests would be provided due to safety reasons and it is only for children above 5 years old and above 1.0 meter. <br>- National Gallery Singapore. Admire the artworks there at a very low cost (for tourist). </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Our chosen neighbourhood is: Queenstown<br><br>Brief history: Queenstown was named after Queen Elizabeth II to mark her coronation in 1952.</div><div>Queenstown is the first satellite town in Singapore. The town was built by the Singapore Improvement Trust (SIT) in the 1950s, and its subsequent development in the 1960s was taken over by HDB.<br><br>3 interesting facts:<br>-  Hock Lee bus Riots took place in 1955. They locked themselves in the bus depot, and students from Chinese middle schools gave their full support by offering food, money and entertainment. Things went horribly wrong when the Riot Police attempted to break the crowds up with water cannons and tear gas. The clash resulted in the death of 2 policemen and left hundreds injured. In the end, it was not all pain and disappointment. A consensus was reached between the bus company and Singapore Bus Workers’ Union, and working conditions were improved.<br>- It once housed Singapore's tallest residential building. <br>- 84 year old temple named Tiong Ghee Temple (忠義廟)<br><br>3 places of interest in SG<br>- Orchard has the Cathay Building, which is the first skyscraper that was completed in August 1941.There was a movie cinema there as well.<br>- Yishun has an ant shop and the biggest mall in the north area called 'Northpoint City.' There is also a basketball court that train horses and you can take picture with them.<br>- Marina Bay has Singapore's most iconic hotel, Marina Bay Sands. It also has The Shoppes at Marina Bay sands, a luxurious shopping mall, as well as Gardens by the Bay, an urban nature park.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Our chosen neighbourhood is Yishun<br><br>Brief history: Yishun is formerly known as nee soon and it is located in between Khatib and Sembawang. In a map it is in the North region. It has a bad reputation of crimes like loan sharks, animal abuse/murders to shopping mall stabbings and feuding taxi drivers. <br><br>3 interesting facts:<br> 1. Orto - a lot of families fancy visiting here to catch their meal. prawning is a popular activity where they would go during the night and then feast on said catches. <br>2. hawker/food places - 928 yishun laksa (non halal). <br>coba-coba (halal). coba coba is a homely cafe food place where many would come to enjoy traditional malay food and affordable nasi ambeng. ( malay dishes like siput, ayam masak hijau :) )<br>3. Just Ants - pretty self explanatory. just a shop selling ants :) <br>3 places of interest in Singapore:<br>- Sembawang Hot Springs Park<br>public can enjoy foot bath, dining, hot spring water collection and educational area zone.<br>-Sentosa <br>Sentosa is an island resort off Singapore’s southern coast, connected to the city by road, cable car, pedestrian boardwalk and monorail</div>]]></description>
