Germany celebrates a lot of the same holidays as we do, just with different names in German. One of the holidays that Germany celebrates that is not common where we live is May day. After the 1894 Pullman Strike, President Grover Cleveland officially moved the U.S. celebration of Labor Day to the first Monday in September, to what is now called May day. When you live in germany, you have to be 16 or older to buy beer and wine, and 18 and older for stronger alcohol. The rule does not include private drinking at home. Kids 15 and older may have alcohol in public as long as they are with a parent or guardian. The image below shows the drinking ages of Spain, Peru, and the U.S to compare how different Germany is.

Germany has crazy laws, but sometimes it's good. In germany, they also have different drinking laws, which in my opinion is not good but its ok. You are not allowed to play musical instruments all day in an apartment. You can’t address a police officer as ‘du’ the informal way of addressing someone, but as ‘sie’ the formal way. You could get fined a lot of Euros for just mixing up the words. Some crazy laws that germany has are, you CAN’T run out of fuel on the Autobahn, you can’t keep urns in your home, you can’t tune your piano at night, and many more.
