Both stories talks about them hiding their relationship from the public. In Romeo and Juliet, they hide there marriage because of their parents feud(Montague and Capulets) between each other. In Pyramus and Thisbe their parents just forbidden their love for each other.
In paragraph 2 of Pyramus and Thisbe its says, " They longed to live marry, but their parents forbade." In Romeo and Juliet it says, "Their unfortunate deaths put an end to their parents' feud. For the next two hours, we will watch the story oft heir doomed love and their parents' anger, which nothing but the children's deaths could stop. You can tell by these evidence that something was stopping them from bringing their relationship to public. To keep it secret in Romeo and Juliet they would meet up with Friar Lawerence or in the balcony of Juliets home. In Pyramus and Thisbe they would communicate throughout the cracking the wall.

Friar Lawrence's Potion = Thisbe & the cloak

In both stories an object causes the main characters to act on impulsive decisions. In Romeo & Juliet the potion that Friar Lawerence concocted is the cause of Romeo's death. According to the text , " Take thou this vial, being then in bed, And this distilled liquor drink thou off, ... No warmth, no breath shall testify thou livest. The roses in thy lips and cheeks shall fade...Each part, deprived of supple government,Shall, stiff and stark and cold, appear like death. And in this borrowed likeness of shrunk death Death has sucked the honey from your breath, but it has not yet ruined your beauty. You haven’t been conquered...(drinks the poison)O true apothecary, Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die." (L95-130)Friar Lawerence's potion is what eventually drives Romeo to kill himself, If the potion wasn't as strong maybe Juliet would've woken up in time to stop him.
In Pyramus & Thisbe, Thisbe drops her cloak and the lioness ends up tearing it to shreds. Thisbe's cloak is what makes Pyramus assume that Thisbe is dead, which, drives him to kill himself. Based on the text, "..as she fled she dropped her cloak... Before him lay the bloodstained shreds of the cloak and clear in the dust were the tracks of the lioness. The conclusion was inevitable. He never doubted that he knew all. Thisbe was dead...He drew his sword and plunged it into his side." (Paragraphs 4-5) The cloak is what causes Pyramus's death.

Misunderstandings and Impulsive decisions

Both of the stories" Romeo and Juliet" and "Pyramus & Thisbe" portray misunderstandings when it came to death.I say this because in the story of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo thought Juliet was dead, but she wasn't and before asking any questions he made an impulsive decision which was to kill himself. When she woke up an saw him dead she made and impulsive decision to kill herself .In the story Pyramus & Thisbe one also thought the other was dead which lead them to kill their self and the other person to kill their self because they saw the other person dead. To support this, in the short story Pyramus and Thisbe it states,

Importance of the Daggers

In both of the stories characters kill themselves with daggers. The usage of daggers in both texts portray a sense of urgency in the characters' death. In Romeo and Juliet, Juliet offers to kill herself multiple times with a dagger. Each time she offers she is acting impulsively and urgently. On line 169 and 170 of Romeo and Juliet, Juliet says, "Yea, noise? Then I'll be brief. O happy dagger, This is thy sheath. There rust and let me die." In Pyramus and Thisbe, Thisbe says, "She plunged into her heart the sword that was still wet with his life’s blood." (para. 7)
