A primary source is a source whether a diary, video, recordings etc from a person who was there at that time or experiencing it happening. A secondary source is usually something like a text book or other things. But a secondary source is written by someone who was not there and or didn't experience it happening. Primary sources are more reliable than a secondary source because it is from the specific time... But secondary sources can be reliable too since most of them get their info from primary sources (multiple primary sources though). If the evidence is from a primary source, it has more credibility, since it came straight from someone who was there. If it's a secondary source, it gets tricky.
