She runs over to her crying then the mother is shot. The father is trying not to move. I chose this passage because it really told me how people sometimes had to watch their families be killed and that they couldn’t do anything about it. This is heartbreaking because we know how much both Michael and his grandmother went through. She had taken care of him at the concentration camp and helped him when he was sick. People always say forgive but never forget.
