Person 1: Why bother viewing literature through the Feminist perspective? Why should we still use it to analyze literature?

I feel as if with any type of writing you should view all perspectives. Whether its race, religion, or even gender. By doing so your able to see it in a different view an be less bias of others emotions/opinions and be fair through their own personal writings. We should still do it today because we get to view it from outside perspectives without being judgmental of one another.

"My hands are of your color, but I shame / To wear a heart so white... / A little water clears us of this deed" (2.2.82-82-86).

Answer the following:

Lady Macbeth to Macbeth

Macbeth has just killed Duncan, but he forgets to plant the daggers back at the scene. Lady Macbeth is yelling at him, and taking charge of the situation.

The "images of masculinity and femininity" in the play are "terribly disturbed" and call into question the "moral systems and standards"(C.Cakebread) in the play. Lady Macbeth occupies an atypical 'gender ambiguous' zone, especially for the Shakespearean time period. Lady Macbeth doesn't necessarily usurp gender roles, she does however, provide evidence for an inaccurate argument that Macbeth is being overpowered by "feminine influences"(C.), however, he has simply fallen victim to fate, and his own desires.
