This poem demonstrates transcendental ideology by going into full detail of what nature is and how it is beautiful. Whitman describes different aspects of nature throughout this poem. All of his descriptions basically explain the beauty of nature. Nature is something so simple that people tend to overlook it's beauty. In this poem, Whitman wants people to start appreciating the simple things in life. He describes the seasons, winter, spring, summer, and fall, and he describes even the most simplest things in nature like trees and leaves. These descriptions of things in nature help explain the type of person Whitman is. He is someone who is "spontaneous".

This poem demonstrates transcendental ideology by explaining to live life to the fullest. Whitman talks about forty years of life and he is indirectly talking about someone. He mentions being invisible to this someone he's talking to in the poem. He said that once this someone reads the poem, he will become invisible. He talks very highly about this someone. It is possible that it's someone in his life he cares deeply about. At the end of the poem, he claims that he is now with them. Whitman uses his words to this someone to explain to others to live life to the fullest and to chase what you want in life.
