  •  The heritage I identify with is Irish and Slovania. 
  • This means that my family comes from the modern countries of Ireland and Yugoslavia. 
  • Ireland and Yugoslavia are on the continent of  Europe.
  • My life has been affected by the Battle of Kells and the Battle of Sisak.

  • June 22, 1593- battle starts
  • There were campaigns and attempted renewals of truces by the groups, causing the battle to begin.
  •  The Ottoman regional forces and a combined Christian army were the groups in the Battle of Sisak in Sisak, Croatia.
  • The battle in resulted in both groups attacking each other, and ended with a crushing defeat for the Christians.
  • My ancestors were in Croatia when it occurred and witnessed the battle. Without the event, the history of Ireland would be different, and the Ottomans and Christians would both still be living there.

  • 1315 November- battle starts
  • The Scots wanted the land of Kells to themselves, and the Irish weren't willing to give it up, so the war between Scotland and Ireland began.
  • The battle was between Edward Bruce (Scottish), and Roger Mortimer (Irish) in Kells, County Meath, Ireland.
  •  Mortimer wanted his own land, and Bruce didn't want to give it to him. The Scots (Bruce) started burning down countries without a hesitation. In the end, the Scottish won the battle.
  • My ancestors were Irish, meaning they were most likely in the battle, so I am probably a relative of someone who fought in the Battle of Kells. If this event hadn't occurred, then Bruce and Mortimer would have never had the disagreement over the land, and it would still be inhabited by both the Scots and Irish.
