One thing I learned from Tuesdays class is to identify different satirical devices in a text.

I also learned how to further my understanding on these satirical devices and what each satiric devices definition and usage in a piece of text.

One of the things I learned on Tuesday's class was the meanings of the terms we review such as Grotesque, Dramatic Irony, Socrate Irony etc.

Another thing I learned in last class was having a better understanding of the events that surrounded Roger and me such as finding Roger in a suite hotel in Detroit.

Something I learned in class on Tuesday is a lot of different satirical devices are used more commonly than I originally thought as I seemed to generalize things a lot into being the same 2-3 things every time when it's a lot bigger range of different strategies being used that we see/hear all the time.

I also learned how to analyze text/media better to identify when satirical devices are being used and what is the person using them trying to really say or show.

I learned that situational irony isn't exactly what someone says but rather in which the situation is contrary to what is expected.
From the film discussion I learned why many of the rich did or said things that were out of place.

I learned that there are different types of irony. Situational, dramatic, and socratic. Socratic is when you pretend to not know, situational is when the result of a situation isn't the one expected, and dramatic is when the viewer knows more than the characters.

I learned how to tell the difference between these rhetorical strategies.

One thing I learned during last class was the more in depth meaning for the satirical devices. While sarcasm is more of a verbal irony it is the opposite of what a person is really saying but also understanding that it is sarcastic.

Another thing I learned during last class was understanding the meaning behind Roger and me and how it had contribute to society during Flint Michigan.
