         <description><![CDATA[<div>Five Diseases in the kidneys:<br><br></div><ul><li>Kidney Stones: The most common symptom is severe pain usually during urination.</li><li>Lupus Nephritis: Which can leak protein and cause inflammation.</li><li>Medullary Sponge Kidney: Basically a kidney disorder</li><li>Nephrotic Syndrome in Adults: Low levels of albumin in the blood.&nbsp;</li><li>Pain Medicines and the Kidneys: can possibly damage the kidneys.</li></ul><div>&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>Ways kidneys maintain homeostasis:<br><br></div><div>The <strong>kidneys</strong> remove waste products from metabolism such as urea, uric acid, and creatinine by producing and secreting urine. Urine may also contain sulfate and phenol waste and excess sodium, potassium, and chloride ions.
