Growing up in Canada there was a lot of pop music going on. 

When I was younger I also spent a little but of time singing the songs 

Pop music 
With the amount of new singers we have today, pop music has been a part of Canadians culture. Whether it was sung by Doja cat, Ariana Grande or the Weekend. They were one of the singers that my friends would play all the time. Canada has had an extraordinary pop takeover during the years. My parents didn’t really play the radio because we had electronics and a home speaker. During the middle of the day, my dad would play some pop music (the clean ones of course). My sister and I would sing along. 

Pop music has repeated beats and smooth rhythms. That's especially something that made pop music popular today. 

Hip Hop
Some singers that sing hi hop and are quite popular are Rihanna, Eminem and
 Lil Wayne. All these singers sing hip hop and are still quite popular. Hip hop is something that I didn't exactly get at home. Growing up my friends would play hip hop songs which is how I got used to them. 

Combine the two 
In today's world hip hop and pop music are certainly one of the most popular genres of music. Starting off from the creator of hip hop/ pop music to Ariana Grande and Rihanna.
