      <description>Jess is on the BSc (Hons) course on her 2nd placement of 5 (year 2) with you.  When she contacted you with her passport she disclosed that she had dyslexia but that she has some strategies for managing it.  You set time aside during the 1st week in order to complete the learning contract, but unfortunately due to staff sickness that time was reduced and she seemed reluctant to disclose anything.
•	It is now the 3rd week of the placement and it is clear that Jess is finding time management a bit of a challenge, taking too long with some aspects of patient management e.g.  difficulties eliciting key information during her interactions with patients and from patients’ notes. 
•	During discussions you have noticed her concentration span is short and she sometimes misinterprets questions that you ask relating to pathologies but then on occasion her clinical reasoning is appropriate, concise and logical. 
•	Your band 5 (new in post) finds her difficult to be with and keeps commenting on this. 
•	Jess says that her dyslexia wasn’t a problem in her first placement where she worked in paediatrics.  </description>
