We were delighted to be part of Trinity College Physics 300 Oil Drop Experiment. From the beginning we wanted to use it as a vehicle to heighten awareness of physics throughout the whole school. This included a competition to  name the experiment giving it the personality of “Olly the Oil Drop” complete with an Instagram account. Students researched and performed  other viscosity experiments celebrating George Stoke. Unfortunately the drop doesn't seem to be falling. This did not put us off. We ran surveys and competitions for the whole school. We learned about time-lapse photography and live-streaming to youtube as well as monitoring other schools' experiments. It has been a tremendous learning experience that is documented in this students padlet
