Currently I am reading CHARMING AS A VERB by Ben Philippe, one of the Rosie Awards nominations. The setting is New York City and it is important to the story because the dog-walking scheme Halti is using to make money only works because he lives in close proximity to wealthy neighbors who need their dogs walked.

Today I read a CNN article about Hurricane Fiona, by Layla Santiago. The title of the article is called "Fiona pummels Puerto Rico as some parts of the island remain scarred from Hurricane Maria." The setting is in Puerto Rico and it is currently affecting the people in Puerto Rico. Over 1.4 million people are without power there and are currently panicking over the damage predicted to be coming. Rainfall could total up to 30 inches of rainfall and 75 mph winds. 5 years ago, Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico leaving it's people without power for almost a year after, so Puerto Ricans are praying for a better outcome than that of Hurricane Maria. This story is important to me because I couldn't even begin to imagine what the people there are experiencing and how scared they must be.

I am reading Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro. The author keeps me interested by telling the story in a way where you always wonder what's going to happen next. The story grabs your attention and makes you want to keep reading it.

Today I read a CNN article about a Californian woman who faked her own kidnapping, and is set to be sentenced today. The title is, California woman accused of hoax kidnapping was driven by ‘narcissistic behavior', by Eric Levenson and Stella Chan. Sherri Papini allegedly stated, that she was abducted and branded, by two masked Hispanic woman that chained her in a closet. She stated that they tried elaborate torture techniques, and held her at gunpoint. Due to this claim, police went on a pursuit to find these perpetrators but in the end, only prosecuted innocent Hispanic individuals, and this enraged many communities. I think the authors wrote this article, because this is a very unjustly act to the Hispanic community and it is also during Hispanic Heritage week.

I am reading All Fall Down by Ally Carter. This book differs from other books I've read in this genre is because its not just one genre its a mixture of mystery, romance and telling a real story. What's gets me is the different things happening to her all at once and happening so fast which I can relate too and don't gets me bored.

I am reading "In Cold Blood" by Truman Capote. In the story, the author is currently switching between two perspectives. The two perspectives are The Clutters family and Perry and Dic. The author keeps saying that the next 24 hours are crucial to Perry and Dic, and the title of the chapter is titled, "The Last to See Them Alive". I predict that Perry and Dic are planning to kill the Clutters because of these context clues. I also read that Dic stole a gun from his family. That's why I think that Perry and Dic are going t kill the Clutters in the story next.

I'm reading "Ace Of Spades" by Faridah Abike-Imidie. This story is about deeply rooted racism. It talks about how racism can be passed down through generations and ruins the life of innocent people of color.
