Whether it was on the fast-paced, cool indoor courts or the blistering heat outside, tennis became a big theme in my life the summer after my freshman year. I had just moved to Zionsville, leaving behind everything and everyone I had ever known, except tennis. I dove deep into tennis, taking it more seriously through tournaments and also just getting out more to practicing on my own. The rhythmic beat of the tennis ball became something that I felt throughout the day, keeping me grounded in my academics and personal life. As I began to take tennis more seriously, I also began to strive harder in other facets of my life. The library became a more familiar place as I took my studies more seriously. During this transition period, I started thinking more about the future and what it could hold for me.
