A colonel at the Battle of Gettysburg during the American Civil War, led a bayonet charge down the side of Little Round Top against a rebel offensive when ammunition was exhausted, forcing a surrender towards the end of the day's fighting. In doing so, he likely saved the entire Union line from collapsing, helping to turn the tide not only of the battle, but of the war itself. He was promoted to brigadier general by the end of the war, and oversaw the peaceful transfer of arms after Appomattox. He was awarded the Medal of Honor. He later became the president of Bowdoin College, then governor of Maine. Plus he has an awesome mustache.

Heydrich was one of the original Nazi party leaders and the principal architect of the Holocaust. A man so evil that even Hitler himself described the man as "the one with the iron heart". He would eventually earn the title of "the Butcher". I would want to study his psychopathy/sociopathy firsthand, as the Nuremberg trials were profoundly inconclusive in regards to determining the sanity of the tried Nazi party officials. Rare in history do we get to study evil figures firsthand; it's always after they've done their deeds and died do we get the explanation and insight. Understanding evil is very important.
