One thing that is currently going well in my life is driving! I began driving in August, and at first I thought that it would be scary but it’s not, once you get the hang of it. My favorite part about practicing driving is the fact that before or after, I would usually treat myself to something like ice cream or a drink. Although there are some skills that I need to work on, but I’d say that I’m pretty good at it turning and halting. Overall, I hope I can get my license soon so that I can pick up my friends and hangout before or after school.

One thing that I did over the summer was volunteering! I had volunteered at my local church, helping around to the best of my abilities, help clean around the building, and making sure everything was taken care of. I never expected to end up volunteering at that church, but I’m glad I got the chance to since I needed the distraction to keep me busy. Volunteering at this church was like a part-time job for me, teaching me what it was like to actually have an actual job. Getting restless and even not wanting to get up and go. And if you were wondering, yes, I did get paid.

I don’t have an exact type of music taste, I usually just listen to anything and everything that sounds good to me. Love songs are what I usually listen to, I don’t know why. For example, “My Dear” by Jeff Bernat. Though, I do have to say, they are pretty popular and most common written about. But I’m mostly into are songs that I can relate to, for example, “Wannabe” by Takayoshi. Like come on now, it’s actually such a good song (to me) and it’s a song that I relate to?? It’s a win win.

My friends and family are very important people who I am grateful for having in my life. Even though I might not have classes with some of my friends and see my older siblings as often, I still make time to talk and spend time with them. Without having my older siblings, I wouldn’t have known the things I know today. With my siblings, I know I can be myself around them, just laughing and hanging out, and playing games. Same goes for my friends, I’ve learned things from them in class when asking for help.

My strengths are being straight up with people, being talkative with my peers when necessary, and even being flexible. My interest are drawing, painting, traveling, and even fishing. I usually go fishing with my family on Saturdays and Sundays since those days are when each of us are most free. As for needs, I don’t necessarily have any needs except for peaceful classroom so I can be able to do my work in peace.

I am Felisity Schiung and I’m 15 years old. My favorite hobbies are drawing, painting, fishing, and playing a few sports, like tennis and badminton. I grew up here in Minnesota, along with my siblings, and I am Hmong American. The most important people to me are my friends and family, making me who I am today and I’m thankful for them. A fact about me is that I have a dog named Hazel, she’s currently 5 years old and was born in the fall.
